Podcast 1 - Cinderella (La Cenerentola)

Featuring Colin Lee, Julianne Young and BBC Sports Editor Mihir Bose (duration 30 minutes)

Welcome to Operalovers first podcast. This first programme features interviews with the rising star, tenor Colin Lee and mezzo-soprano Julianne Young about their roles in Welsh National Opera's colourful revival of La Cenerentola by Rossini late last year.

This is followed by an interview with BBC Sports Editor and opera lover Mihir Bose. He provides a fascinating viewpoint on western opera, comparing it not only to Indian classical performance but also to another passion of his - football.

Welsh National Opera's production of Rossini's La Cenerentola was a lively, cartoon-like production, featuring some rather athletic rats. Certainly, WNO's version of Rossini's opera was unashamedly fun as the photograghs by Bill Cooper show.

podcast timings..........? (Report)

just a thought.....unless I am being dense, I couldn't see anywhere how long the podcast lasts for. When one wants to listen to a podcast, it helps to know whether to download, or if one has enough time to listen to it there and then..............

Thanks for that Gill. I've just put the duration up on the subtitle for all to see, and I'll make sure it goes up in the future. Sabine
